Compliance of our products with LEED-Version 1.0


MR Credit 4.1 - Recycled Content: 7,5%

  • Use material with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post indutrial content constitutes at least 7,5 % of the total value of the materials in the project.

  • Our main steel supplier has specific recycling policies.  Our galvannealed steel is comprised of 58% recycled steel. The post-consumer content is 20%; the post-industrial content is 25%; the balance 13% is home scrap.  Our stainless stee is comprised of 80% recycled content.  The post-consumer content is 20%; the post-industrial content is 50%; the balance 10% is home scrap.

MR Credit 4.2 - Recycled Content: 15%

  • Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post industrial content constitutes at least 15% of the total value of the materials in the project.

MR Credit 5.1 - Regional Material: 10%
  • Use a minimum of 10% of building materials or products that have been extracted, harvested or recovered, as well as manufactured regionally within a radius of 500 miles of the project site.

  • de La Fontaine's manufacturing facilities are located in Sherbrooke, Québec Canada and Boston Massachusetts USA.

    Ore extraction from our main steel supplier is coming from:

    ArcelorMittal Minorca Mine (Virginia, MN, USA)
    Hibbing Mine (Hibbing, MN, USA)
    Wabush Mine (Wabush, NF, Canada)
